Here we go again 🤣🍚
Let’s talk rice…
Now no hate to Lidl GB cause I used their rice as an example
You’ve made yourself a lovely curry for tea… life is good… smells unreal… you weigh out 100g of rice to cook for yourself and log it in your app like the responsible calorie-counting athlete you are 😌
Except…
You weighed 100g UNCOOKED rice…
…but logged 100g COOKED rice 💀💀💀
Congratulations 🙌🏻
You’ve just accidentally under-logged your food by the calorie equivalent of a small second dinner 😂
🍚 100g cooked rice = roughly 115 calories
🍚 100g uncooked rice = roughly 378 calories
That’s a casual little difference of…
🔥 263 calories
But don’t worry…
I’m sure your fat loss “plateau” is definitely hormonal and not because your rice is committing fraud behind your back 🤣
The best part?
People will swear blind:
“Yeah but it’s still 100g of rice though”
Yes Mick…
and a grape is technically the same thing as a raisin, but one of them has clearly been through some life experiences 😭
So moral of the story:
⚖️ Check whether you’re logging food as cooked or uncooked before accidentally turning your calorie deficit into a maintenance phase.
Anyway…
who still hates me after this one? 👀🤣
Before I get the Life’s too short comments,
Aye it was especially when I was 19st and pre-diabetic, but I’m sure the Facebook experts will still debate tracking it in the comments
And diagnosing me with some sort of eating disorder 🤣

i started teaching myself muscle ups yesterday with nothing but a couple of insta videos and wishful thinking 😅
and honestly? i was anxious af
it was new. i didn’t fully know what i was doing. i stood there for a good few minutes deliberating, overthinking, talking myself in and out of it
which is mad when you think i’ve been training nearly 15 years and i’m a PT
but that’s the point
no matter how long you’ve been in the game, there will always be something that makes you feel like a beginner again
something that humbles you
something that makes you doubt yourself for a second
and that’s okay
you’re allowed to be experienced and still feel unsure
you’re allowed to be strong and still feel nervous
you’re allowed to not be good at something (yet)
this is your reminder to try anyway
be the beginner
do the awkward reps
figure it out as you go
that’s where the growth is 💪🏼

this girls the queen of consistency and that doesn’t mean that she for one second restricted herself, she still goes out, goes on hol, skips workouts occasionally and eats out fairly regularly
a lot of people never reach higher calories
because they don’t stick out the initial low-cal phase. (and i don’t mean 1,200)
that phase isn’t forever, it’s a stepping stone.
done properly, it allows you to build calories back up, fuel training and actually change your body.
the goal isn’t to stay low.
the goal is to earn the increase.

feb’s here and you’re still sat in the carpark giving yourself a pep talk bcos you’re a big ball of anxiety and stepping foot in a gym hasn’t got much easier
gymtimidation doesn’t magically disappear after january but confidence does come from showing up anyway.
save this for your next “should i just go home?” moment 💪🏼

working from home doesn’t have to mean not hitting your step target 👀
steps don’t need to come from a long walk or extra workouts, they also come from moments of movement
5 minutes here.
pacing calls.
walking to make a coffee.
moving between tasks.
it all adds up.
focus on breaking up sitting, stacking steps onto what you already do and aiming for a bit more than yesterday, not perfection 🚶♀️
