COMMUNITY IS EVERYTHING. 💙🏃🏻‍♂️✨

While I’m still buzzing from my own run, one of the absolute highlights of my day was watching four incredible ladies from our Social Strides community absolutely crush the Southend Half Marathon!

What makes this even more special is that most of them hadn't even met in person before this morning. Seeing this community come together on race day, support one another, and smash their goals is exactly why Social Strides was created.

A massive congratulations to these four on their fantastic work and amazing times today:

Charlie Charlie Steel - 1:57:08 (First ever half marathon! 🚀)
Julie Julie bennett - 2:02:19 (Incredible pacing and a brilliant finish! 🔥)
Harriet Harriet Le Corgne - 2:10:20 (First ever half marathon! 🎉)
Elysia Elysia Clack - 2:20:47 (First ever half marathon! 💪)

Taking on 13.1 miles is no joke, and for Charlie, Harriet, and Elysia, stepping up to conquer their very first half marathon is a massive achievement! You have all put in the work, and you should be so incredibly proud of yourselves. I know the whole community is cheering for you today! 🏆

The Social Strides family is growing, and days like today show just how powerful it is when runners come together.

Drop them some love in the comments below! 👇

I DID IT!!! 1:35:00 ON THE DOT! 🏁🏆🔥

I am honestly completely lost for words and so incredibly proud of this one! I set out today with one massive goal in mind, to smash through that sub 1:40:00 barrier!

I stuck to the game plan, felt amazing, and pushed the pace a little faster than anticipated.

To cross the finish line and see exactly 1:35:00 on the clock is a feeling I can’t even describe! A massive 9 minute personal best from London, and I couldn't be happier.

The months of hard work, early mornings, and hitting the pavement paid off. Now, the shoes are coming off, the feet are going up, and I am relaxing for the rest of the afternoon.

I’ll be posting a full, detailed race debrief over the next few days to break down the splits and how it all unfolded, but right now? Get me a nice, ice cold cider! 🍻

Huge thank you to everyone who sent messages, cheered along the course, and to the entire Social Strides community for the incredible support!
We set the bar high, and we cleared it. Time to celebrate! 🎉

TOMORROW IS THE DAY! 🏃‍♂️💨

The gear is ready, the training is done, and the Southend Half Marathon is finally here!

I’ve put in the miles, stuck to the plan, and trusted the process. The focus tomorrow is simple, absolute ex*****on. We are chasing down that sub 1:40:00, and I’m ready to leave it all out on the course. ⏱️🔥

Huge shoutout to the Social Strides crew and everyone who has supported the journey so far. If you're out cheering tomorrow, give us a shout!

Let's go get it!

The last long run of the block is in the books! 🇹🇳✈️

Taper week is officially here, which meant keeping things strictly nice and easy today, a comfortable 9.5km to keep the legs ticking over before the Southend Half Marathon.

Even at 6:30 AM, the Tunisia heat is no joke, but the work is done.

Now? I've earned every single bit of the all-inclusive buffet today. Time to relax before the serious carb-loading begins in a few days. 🫓🍝

🚨 PROUD HUSBAND / COACH MOMENT 🚨🥲

If you told me at Christmas that Emma would be where she is today, I wouldn’t have doubted it for a second! But seeing her actually crush it has been incredible.

We took this photo at Christmas. That was the moment Emma said she was ready to get her body back to pre-pregnancy shape after giving birth to Parker in November 2025.

But we didn't just jump into the deep end. We built a system that actually fit her life as a first-time mum.
Here is exactly how she did it:

📉 January: Focus shifted to conscious food choices and increasing daily activity. When getting out with Parker proved too unpredictable, we adapted and got a basic walking pad for the house. Low friction, high consistency.

🏋️‍♀️ February: Time to hit the gym. Emma trained all the way up to a week before giving birth (seriously impressive foundational strength), so strength training came naturally. We started with 2x a week.

📈 April: Progress was solid, energy was up, so we increased the volume to 3x a week around Parker’s routine.

The Result?

In just 4 months of structured training and conscious eating, she has lost over 2.5 stone (35lbs+)! 🔥
Is she exactly where she wants to be yet? No. But she is damn close.

More importantly, she proved that you don't need a perfect routine to get massive results, you just need an adaptable system that works around your life, not against it.

Now, it’s time to relax, enjoy our family holiday, and completely switch off. Then, we get straight back to the plan when we return.

Drop a comment to show Emma some massive love for her hard work!

No pressure, no target pace, just running. 🏃🏻‍♂️

Today was the final long run before the Southend Half Marathon and 17km in the bank.

I went out with zero expectations. The goal wasn't to chase a specific number on the watch, it was just to move comfortably and enjoy the miles. Plus, running in the rain today was an absolute game-changer, so refreshing and exactly what I needed. 🌧️

Ended up crossing the 17km mark at 1:28:50!

Being just 4 minutes off race pace while keeping the effort entirely comfortable is a massive confidence booster. It proves the aerobic efficiency is exactly where it needs to be. When you stack race-day adrenaline, crowd energy, and carbon plates on top of this foundation, sub 1:40:00 is looking realistic.

Taper mode is officially locked in. Ticking off one last 10km in Tunisia this Sunday while on holiday, and then it’s go time! 🇹🇳☀️

Let’s get it! 🏃🏻‍♂️💨

Building something special, one stride at a time. 🤝🏃🏻‍♂️💨

Back on the trails this morning for another beautiful 10k around The Belfairs Loop.

The best part of organising these runs isn't just getting the kilometres in, it’s watching people connect, chat, and support each other from the first minute to the last.

Social Strides was built on the idea that running belongs to everyone. No egos, no expectations, just a community that shows up for each other.

Incredible effort from everyone today. 👏🏼

Days like this! 💙👌🏼

7:00 AM. 0 expectations. 10 Kilometres later… 🔥

The first ever Social Strides group run is officially in the books, and honestly? Everyone absolutely crushed it this morning.

The original plan for The Belfairs Loop was simple, beat the heat, run for 30-40 minutes, and just see what happens. No distance goals, no pressure. But the vibes were so high and the conversation was flowing so much that by the time we hit lap three (8.5km), the collective energy took over. We just had to push it to the full 10k.

Non-stop running, non-stop conversation, and the best start to a Sunday.

The most important part of Social Strides? This is for everyone. Whether you’re chasing a PB or just starting your running journey, there is a place for you here. I started Social Strides because running shouldn't feel exclusive or intimidating. It’s for everyone. Period.

Massive thank you to everyone who brought the energy this morning. Let’s do it again soon.

Drop a 👟 in the comments if you’re joining us for the next loop!
