This was very nice to hear...
"I’ve often found it difficult to get motivated to train for many reasons. But having regular PT sessions with Mark has helped me so much. It gives me the structure and motivation I need to keep me going and to keep me doing exercise. I still have weeks which are harder than others due to work and family commitments but by working with Mark in regular PT sessions, I find it really helps me to create a routine that is incredibly beneficial. It helps that Mark really knows his stuff and is always looking at the latest research to help give his clients the latest information and techniques too. I would definitely recommend Mark and Bodyworks to anyone, no matter what your fitness goals are."

Would you mind helping me?
I'm working on growing Bodyworks and helping more people find the support they need to get moving again.
If you've enjoyed training with me, would you mind taking a couple of minutes to leave a review?
It really helps local people understand what it's like to work with me and can make a huge difference to a small business like mine.
I'd be incredibly grateful.

You don't need to write anything fancy. Just describe what you were struggling with before, what we've worked on, and how you feel now.
Sooo helpful,
Thankyou
Mark

Over the last few months, I’ve noticed something.
The people making the biggest changes in their lives aren’t necessarily the most motivated.
They’re not the fittest.
Not the most disciplined.
Not the people smashing themselves 7 days a week.
Usually, they’re just the people who finally got tired of feeling stuck.
Tired of starting over.
Tired of feeling uncomfortable in their own skin.
Tired of telling themselves “I’ll start Monday.”
And once they stop waiting to “feel ready”…
things begin to shift.
Not perfectly.
Not instantly.
But steadily.
That’s actually a huge part of what I’ve been building and thinking about recently.
Less punishment.
More structure.
More movement.
More confidence.
More feeling like yourself again.
Anyway, I just wanted to send this because someone reading it probably needed the reminder:
You do not need a perfect plan.
You need a small step you can repeat.
More soon,
Mark

Throwback to a great race that no longer exists. Booooo

Some workouts stay in one place.
This one moves.
We start at the top of Tankerton Slopes, looking out over the sea.
We walk, move, train, climb, descend, breathe.
Strength.
Cardio.
Balance.
Movement skills.
By the time we reach the beach, you realise something…
You didn’t just exercise.
You went somewhere.
That’s Beach Boot Camp.

It’s not that you don’t care about your fitness.
It’s not that you’re lazy.
It’s just… life gets in the way.
Work. Family. Stress. Time disappears.
And somewhere along the line,
you stop moving like you used to.
You feel it.
Less energy.
More stiffness.
Things just feel… harder than they should.
So you tell yourself you’ll start again.
Monday.
Next week.
Next month.
But it never quite happens.
Most people aren’t missing effort. They’re missing direction.
And without that… it’s easy to stay stuck.
I can help you with direction! You just need to reach out.
Eleven glorious months.
If you know, YOU know!!!
If you don't, could always ask....

Something nobody tells you before you become a personal trainer.
The Personal Trainers you idolise can be fully qualified, genuinely experienced, and actually care about you — and still be making promises that the science simply does not back up.
I've been in fitness long enough to know that 'certified' and 'honest about the evidence' are very different things.
Here are three phrases that should make you pause:
❌ "This will fix your back pain."
❌ "I guarantee you'll see results."
❌ "The science is clear — you need to do this."
And here's what a genuinely good trainer actually sounds like:
✅ "The evidence suggests this might help — let's see how you respond."
✅ "The research here is still limited — but in my experience, this is worth trying."
✅ "This is outside my scope — I'd recommend you also speak to your GP."
A good trainer tells you the truth. Even when the truth is 'I'm not entirely sure exercise is the solution.'
I've put together a simple guide — the questions worth asking before or during your next session. Saved the infographic below.
💾 Save this for your next gym conversation. Share it with someone who's about to hire a PT — or who already has one making promises that sound a bit too confident.

Ever feel like you should be doing something…
but you don’t know where to start?
There’s so much out there now.
Workouts. Plans. Advice. Opinions.
Try this. Don’t do that.
This is best. No, that is.
And in the end…
you do nothing.
Not because you’re lazy.
Because you’re overloaded.
I see it all the time.
People who want to feel better, move better, get fitter…
but get stuck before they even begin.
Sometimes the hardest part isn’t the training.
It’s just knowing what to do first.
