This page is managed by the Friends of Cripplegate Park volunteers. Children’s play area, tennis courts and bowling greens make this park multi-functional.
The Friends of Cripplegate Park help promote and maintain the use of the park and hold events throughout the year for the benefit of local residents and tourists. Cripplegate Park is located to the west of the city on New Road opposite the County Cricket ground. The park has a diverse range of features, including a formal arrangement of flower beds, shrub rows, annual bedding, mature trees and open space grassed areas, set out in a traditional style.

🌳🏅 Five parks and green spaces across Worcester have once again been awarded the Green Flag Award – the international quality mark for parks and public spaces. 🏅🌳
The achievement recognises the dedication of Worcester City Council staff and local volunteers who work throughout the year to keep these much-loved spaces safe, welcoming and well maintained.
✅ Gheluvelt Park
✅ Fort Royal Park
✅ Cripplegate Park
✅ Riverside Park
✅ Astwood Cemetery and Crematorium grounds
Over the past year, visitors to Cripplegate Park have enjoyed a range of improvements, including new wooden animal carvings organised and funded by the Friends of Cripplegate Park, alongside Council-funded additions such as a half-court basketball hoop and accessible play equipment.
Meanwhile, St Andrew’s Gardens within Riverside Park has benefited from major upgrades to improve accessibility and create a more welcoming environment for visitors.
And at Gheluvelt Park, the historic bandstand has been repaired and is ready to host performances throughout the summer holidays.
A huge thank you to everyone who helps care for Worcester’s green spaces and ensures they remain places the whole community can enjoy.
