Everyone at the Lovejoy Centre would like to congratulate our CEO, Rev. Ann-Marie Lovejoy Bruce-Kerr, on being awarded Mum of the Year at the Worthing Community Awards.
This award is a testament to Ann-Marie's unwavering dedication, compassion, and commitment to serving others. Whether supporting older adults and people living with dementia, leading community projects, fundraising, writing resources, encouraging families, or simply being there for those who need a listening ear, Ann-Marie gives her all with kindness and generosity.
To be nominated was a tremendous honour, but to receive this award is a reflection of the positive impact she has made in the lives of so many people both within the Lovejoy Centre and across the wider community.
We are incredibly proud of her achievement and grateful for the passion, vision, and heart she brings to everything she does.

Today’s session at the Lovejoy Centre included reminiscence activities, quizzes, puzzles, creative engagement, and social interaction designed to support wellbeing and cognitive stimulation for older adults and people living with dementia.
It was especially encouraging to see one of our activity books being used so successfully within the group setting, (A Brain Work Out Activity Book. 💙

☀️🌊 Out & About Club 🌊☀️
What a beautiful day our Out & About Club had today visiting Worthing Pier and seafront!

Everyone enjoyed a lovely walk by the sea, taking in the sunshine and fresh air, followed of course by a well-earned ice cream 🍦😊

We also had a lovely surprise visit from the Worthing Town Crier, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed, and we are very grateful to Community Transport for helping support our service users . ❤️

Back at the centre, we continued the fun with activities, conversation, laughter, and time together. Days like this are so important creating opportunities for companionship, stimulation, reminiscence, and joy.

It was wonderful seeing everyone relaxed, smiling, and enjoying the simple pleasures of a sunny seaside day. ☀️

🌸 Dementia Action Week 🌸

In honour of Dementia Action Week, we are delighted to share some very special news.

Katrina’s beautiful prayer over us in the minibus during our recent day trip to Bognor Regis will now be shared across the UK through the medium of radio this morning on Hannah Lovejoy’s show on Premier Gospel Radio. 🎙️

This feels incredibly moving and poignant for us all.

It perfectly reflects what Dementia Action Week is truly about — raising awareness, valuing every voice, recognising the importance of connection, and supporting those living with dementia and their families with dignity, compassion, love, and community.

At the Lovejoy Centre, this is something we strive to do every single week through outings, activities, companionship, reminiscence, laughter, listening, and creating meaningful moments together.

💜 A Lovely Day Out with Wednesday group.
Today we enjoyed a wonderful outing together to Bognor Regis Museum and had such a lovely time reminiscing, exploring, chatting, laughing, and making special memories together.
There was so much to see including old shops, vintage radios, seaside displays, toys from the past, and lots of wonderful items that sparked conversation and reminiscence amongst the group.
It was beautiful to see friendships growing, smiles appearing, and everyone enjoying companionship and community together.
These outings are so important in helping reduce isolation, encourage social connection, stimulate memories, and bring joy to older adults living with dementia and memory difficulties.
A huge thank you to everyone who came along today and helped make the day so special. 💙
