If you’re sitting there wondering what is happening to you, you’re not alone. I’ve been digging into the research around women in midlife (no there’s not enough research on perimenopause and menopause yet), but with the little bit we do have, we are seeing that hormone decline (estrogen, progesterone, testosterone for starters) can impact our joints, fascia, and so much, much more! Today, I just wanted to remind you that if you’re not feeling like yourself, it’s not your fault. Give yourself so much grace. I get it if slowing down is not an option. We will need to rethink our badassery and get creative to make sure we support and nurture what our bodies, minds, and hearts need now to continue being badasses♥️

Let us keep fighting for each other! Happy Pride. 🏳️🌈 From We Can Do Hard Things (Doyle, Wambach, & Doyle 2025) “Ultimately, what I want to do in this earth is leave it a little happier, a little safer. You can think really macro and be like, okay then, I have to change this policy. But you can also make someone feel safe in a moment: I believe that my well-being is tied to your well-being. The more well I am, the more well you are. It’s so life giving to know that even a smile or warmth can be contagious; it can lift somebody, and that person can then spread it on (Christen Press).

Happy pride month 🏳️🌈 Let us create a world where everyone is welcome, safe, and free by starting in the spaces we inhabit everyday; our hearts, our minds, our homes, our families, our work, our communities. ♥️🧡💛💚💙💜💗🤎🩵🖤

Notice how the veins running through the center of each leaf line up to create long pink lines across the top of the plant? Cool right? 💗 I didn’t see it when I looked at the plant in person but I see it here. 💓

We dream of being less busy and having more time. I find, though, that unless one is truly committed to more ease, the habit of “being stressed” returns as soon as we feel “rested” and then we’re back to the busy and not having enough time. It’s possible that a slower and simpler way of being brings up feelings we have yet to explore around emptiness, loneliness, or mattering - so instead, we keep busy. I’ve had a blissful week of “less” and I’ve learned all that I’ve gained with less. Here’s to feeling more alive with less.♥️

It’s been rainy and cloudy the last few days. I love the change of pace - it forces the collective “us” to slow down. Traffic slows. People slow. While the pace will pick up again soon, we get to enjoy what is here now. ♥️

I was listening to a podcast yesterday about the emerging science of interpersonal synchrony, how humans fall into rhythm and find resonance with one another. I haven’t read the book yet, but it’s got me thinking about the practice of yoga and meditation in community, not to mention the implications for leadership ♥️♥️ First - the quote for today is huge. The podcast mentioned an astonishing percentage of people who aren’t in touch with the physical feelings of their emotions in their bodies. If we aren’t aware of where we’re tight or constricted, for example, when we are anxious, then it’s possible we’re missing out on powerful information and tools for more ease and connection in our day to day. If you’ve read Kate Murphy’s book, Why We Click, let me know your big takeaways! More to come. ♥️

A little dose of nature for the soul, in between raindrops yesterday ♥️

Sometimes those little mindless habits quietly sabotage your peace and joy. They may be distracting you from discomfort temporarily , yes, but that’s an avoidance tactic. Then you get on the yoga mat with no distraction, complete quiet or stillness and the thoughts and feelings become overwhelming, so much that you quit or stop. ❤️🩹 Is there a mindless habit that might be covering up something that could use a little TLC? Maybe you need a way to process stress and hurt. ❤️🩹 Whatever it is, you’re so worth your own deep attention and love!
