We all have that ONE Pilates move that makes us question our life choices. 😅 Maybe it’s teasers, planks, or that one exercise your instructor makes look WAY too easy. And yes, even our instructors have moves that humble them—that’s the beauty of Pilates. There’s always something to challenge you, no matter how long you’ve been practicing.

Now we want to know—what’s YOUR Pilates nemesis? Name the move in the comments. No judgment here! 👇

Footwork might look like the warm-up, but don’t let those little pushes fool you. Here are 3 reasons we don’t skip it on the Reformer:

🦶 1. Your feet need love, too. Stronger feet and ankles help with balance, stability and everyday movement. You know, the little things like walking.

💪 2. It’s a sneaky leg workout. Your quads, hamstrings, glutes and calves are all getting in on the action. And yes, those tiny movements count.

🔥 3. It’s a full-body connection. Footwork teaches you to engage your core, maintain alignment and move with control. All while lying down. How convenient.

So next time your instructor says, “Let’s start with footwork,” don’t underestimate what’s coming. Your feet do a lot for you. Give them a little attention.

Slow doesn’t mean easy. In Pilates, it means more control, more focus and a whole lot more burn. 🔥

Moving slowly gives you less momentum to rely on, so your muscles have to stay engaged through every inch of the movement. That means you can really zero in on the muscles you’re trying to work instead of just rushing from point A to point B.

So when your instructor says, “Slooow it down…” you know what’s coming. 😅

Meet Ashley, the newest instructor at Core Pilates & Wellness!

Ashley Bush brings more than a decade of experience in Pilates, corrective exercise and holistic wellness to the studio. As a Balanced Body Comprehensive Certified Instructor, she has a special interest in helping clients move better through spinal alignment, sciatica relief, foot and gait issues, and post-rehab exercise.

And her background goes well beyond Pilates. With 20 years of dance experience and training as a Reiki Master, Ashley brings a unique approach that connects movement, precision and whole-body wellness.

You’ll find her working across the Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, CoreAlign and more, whether she’s tailoring a private session to a client’s needs or leading a group class.

We’re so excited to welcome Ashley to the Core community! 💜 Be sure to say HI when you see her in the studio.

Sometimes you start Pilates because you’re looking for something fun to do…and three years later, you’ve found something you love and some pretty great friends along the way.

We love Isabel’s story and the reminder that Pilates can be just as much about connection and community as it is about movement.

Thanks for being part of our Core family, Isabel! 💜

If you think a good core workout means doing endless crunches, meet the Pilates teaser.

Instead of just curling up and down, teasers challenge your deep core while also asking for balance, control, strength, and coordination. And on the Reformer? That core burn gets REAL.🔥Crunches aren’t bad, we just think Pilates gives your core a whole lot more to do.

Team Crunches or Team Teasers? Drop your choice in the comments.
