We better see everyone training this week, including you 🫵

We celebrate effort a lot here.

Not because outcomes don’t matter, but because effort is something everyone can participate in, regardless of where they’re starting from.

Some people are chasing podiums.

Some are trying to get through a session after a hard week.

Some are rebuilding confidence, routine, health, or capacity.

The outcome might look different for all of them.
The effort can still be equally meaningful.

Turning up when motivation is low.
Staying patient when progress feels slow.
Listening instead of ego-lifting.
Repeating the basics properly.
Trying again after a bad session.

That stuff matters.

Because most long-term progress is pretty unremarkable while it’s happening. It’s usually built through small moments of consistent effort and engagement with the process.

And over time, those things tend to compound into outcomes people once thought were out of reach.

This is it.

No filter. No highlight reel. Just what a regular day at Rebuild looks like.

People working hard, having a laugh, pushing each other, celebrating the small wins and the big ones.

This is what we built. And honestly we wouldn’t change a thing.

Built For Better 🙌🏼

One of the challenges with modifying training is making sure we don’t accidentally remove the quality we’re trying to train.

Box jumps are a good example.

Sometimes step ups are absolutely the right option — postpartum, injury, pain, low confidence, or when jumping just isn’t currently workable.

But when possible, we often try to preserve some element of the jump, because stepping and jumping aren’t training the same thing.

Stepping builds strength and control.
Jumping develops rapid force production, timing, coordination, and impact absorption.

Different task. Different adaptation.

That’s why scaling might look like:
• a lower box
• a smaller jump
• reduced reps
• plate jumps
• or simple landing practice

Because sometimes it’s less about intensity, and more about keeping exposure to the quality itself.

I drive past gyms and see people running…

And my first thought is always,
“Yeah… I’m not doing that.”

Maybe you’ve felt the same.

That little moment where you decide…
“That place isn’t for me.”

But here’s what most people get completely wrong

Inside our Capalaba gym, there are plenty of people who don’t run.

Some can’t. Some shouldn’t. Some just dislike it.

And that’s fine. This isn’t the military.

Because we’re not married to movements…
we’re chasing the stimulus.

You don’t need to run to get fit.

You don’t need to punish your body to make progress.

Bike instead.
Row instead.
Lift. Control. Build.

Same outcome.

Different path.

So if you’ve ever driven past and thought,
“I couldn’t do that…”

You probably haven’t seen what actually goes on inside.

And it might suit you a lot better than you think.

Don’t slack the push-up.

Honestly, it’s a bit of a litmus test.

What standards do you keep when the movement isn’t flashy? When nobody is impressed? When it’s just you, the floor, and whether you’re willing to hold position properly for another rep.

Full range.
Control.
Body tension.
Consistency.

It’s easy to care about standards when the weight is heavy or the skill looks cool. It’s harder when the movement feels basic.

But that’s usually where integrity shows up.

Not in the complicated stuff.
In the simple things you choose not to cut corners on.

Because athletes who respect fundamentals tend to progress further and for longer. They build capacity on top of something solid.

The push-up isn’t “just” a push-up.

It’s a reflection of the standards you keep when nobody would blame you for letting them slide.

This is the part nobody puts in the brochure.

The chat after class.

The banter mid workout.

The friendship you didn’t expect to make when you walked through the door.

People come to Rebuild to get fitter and stronger. Then this makes it easier to stay.

Because it turns out the best thing about training isn’t just the results, it’s the people you do it with along the way.
