You know what?

When I started in recruitment, this was a regular for years .. bacon roll and a large latte on the way to the office .

Is it the most optimal breakfast in the world?

No. Is it high in protein?

Not really. But here’s the thing, you can still lose fat eating this.

The problem isn’t the bacon roll, it’s the biscuits at 11, skipping lunch, then the takeaway and beers later.

If you want to improve it, you can swap to double egg and bacon, add a protein shake on the side, or choose a flat white instead of a sugary latte.

Or if you just want the roll, have it, log it, build the rest of your day around it, hit your protein and stay within your calories.

Fat loss isn’t about pretending you’re not a busy, it’s about learning how to eat aroubd your schedule without sabotaging yourself.

If you want the framework I use with recruiters to stay lean without giving up real life, comment

BREAKFAST and I’ll send it over.

RECRUITERS. MEN IN YOUR 40s. WHEN LIFE GETS ON TOP OF YOU, READ THIS.

When my training is on point, other things start to fall into place.

If you’re battling with things at the moment, and to be frank, who isn’t?

Get yourself into the gym.

Train. Lift heavy weights you can manage safely, but make them challenging.

Block out the noise for an hour.

Training won’t solve your problems, but it can give you the physical and mental strength to deal with them.

I’m 48 in a few months, and I’m genuinely grateful I’ve always had training to fall back on.

Nothing fancy. No magic formula. The basics still work, regardless of what social media might tell you these days.

If you’re a recruiter, or a bloke in your 40s who’s let his own health slip while juggling work and life, you’re not alone.

You don’t need to change everything overnight. You just need to start somewhere.

DM me RESET if you want to get back on track with your training, nutrition and routine.

JOB SEEKERS: WATCH OUT FOR THESE SCAMS

There are recruitment scams going around at the moment, and people are getting caught out.

Three things to watch for:

One: Emails from Gmail or other personal accounts claiming to represent legitimate companies. Check the sender.

Two: LinkedIn InMails offering opportunities that look too good to be true. Be cautious.

Three: Don’t click links or open attachments until you’ve verified they’re genuine.

I’ve spoken to several candidates over the last few weeks who’ve been caught out by this.

So, a quick reminder: check before you click.

And share this with someone who’s looking for their next opportunity.

RECRUITERS, MEN IN YOUR 40s… WHEN DID YOU LAST MAKE YOURSELF A PRIORITY?

This pic has just come up in my memories, so I thought I’d run it alongside a more recent one.

There’s about 9 years between these shots.

The left pic was my first real focal point for bodybuilding. Back then, I was that client who wanted everything.

Bulk up. Lose fat. Build muscle. Get abs. Lose the stomach. Bigger legs. Smaller waist.

You get the idea. 😂

Too fkin busy trying to achieve everything at once.

It was the first time I really understood the importance of training in phases, working towards specific targets and then reassessing before setting new ones.

That’s still how I approach my own training and how I programme for clients.

The right pic was taken while dieting, so I was leaner there. I try to maintain a decent level of condition all year, and I’ll get back to that once things settle.

But the point is, this stuff takes time. It’s a constant project.

I’m coming up to 48, and training plays a massive part in keeping my mental health and mindset in a good place.

Having structure, something to work towards and a positive outlet for my energy keeps me on the straight and narrow. And I’m grateful for that.

I think a lot of men, particularly those of us in recruitment, can relate.

We’re busy looking after clients, candidates, teams and families. But somewhere along the way, we can forget to look after ourselves.

If you’re feeling a bit s**t, stuck in a rut or know you need to make some changes, you don’t have to turn your life upside down. You just need to start.

I’m taking on a couple of face-to-face clients in Bethnal Green, helping people build better habits, get stronger and make fitness work around real life.

And if you just need some advice, my DMs are open.

Men, be honest… are you putting yourself first, or have you let yourself slip down the list?

I DON’T BELIEVE IN BALANCE.

I’ve realised I need structure, boundaries and routine.

I’ve gone from co***ne, to food, to bodybuilding. Different habits, but I’ve had to learn to recognise my own patterns.

I’ve always been someone who needs something to focus on, something to work towards, and sometimes something to obsess over.

The difference now is understanding that and knowing where to channel that energy.

Training regularly, keeping my food in check and having goals keeps me grounded.

That doesn’t mean being perfect or missing out on life. It means having some structure in place that works for me.

And that’s a big part of what I try to teach through my coaching.

Change your habits, change your life.

If you feel you need a bit of direction, some structure, or someone to help keep you accountable, drop me a message at AntCoenPt.

Let’s have a chat.

Ever fallen off track with your fitness and ended up beating yourself up about it?

I caught up with a client today who I worked with about a year ago. We had a chat about life, family, work and fitness, and he’s put around 12–14kg back on.

He’s frustrated with himself, which I completely understand. When you’ve worked hard to get yourself into a good place, it’s difficult when things start to slip.

But here’s the thing.

You haven’t forgotten how to do it.

Life gets in the way. Work gets busy, stress builds up, routines disappear and before you know it, you’re back in a place you never intended to be.

It happens.

The answer isn’t to beat yourself up or try to change everything overnight.

Reset. Get back to basics. Put some structure back into your day. Get your training sorted, pay attention to your food and start rebuilding those habits.

And give yourself time.

Don’t get caught up comparing where you are today with where you were when things were going well.

You’ve done it before. You know what’s possible. You just need to start putting the pieces back together.

You don’t need to start from scratch. You just need to start again.

If this sounds familiar, take it as your reminder to stop beating yourself up and start taking those small steps forward.

You’ve got this. 💪

Stop waiting until you’re in shape to take pictures of yourself.

These were taken around five years ago, when I was arguably in the best shape of my life.

Looking back, I’m glad I took them.

Because when you’re training hard, chasing a goal and trying to improve yourself, you don’t always realise how much you’ve achieved.

Your body changes. Life changes. Priorities change.

But you’ve still got those memories.

I get it. You don’t like your stomach. You don’t like how your clothes fit. You don’t want to see yourself in a photo.

So you avoid the camera until you’ve lost the weight, built some muscle or got yourself back on track.

But here’s the thing.

You don’t just want pictures of the finished product. You want memories of the journey, too.

So wherever you’re starting from today, take the picture.

You don’t have to post it. You don’t even have to like it.

Just keep it.

One day, you’ll be glad you did.

And if you’re trying to get yourself back into shape in your 30s, 40s, 50s or beyond, give me a follow.

That’s what I’m here to help with. 💪

Has anyone else noticed how bad we’ve become at actually talking to people?

I see it all the time.

People nervous about making a phone call.

Uncomfortable walking into a room where they don’t know anyone.

Struggling to make conversation.

Avoiding eye contact.

We have created this environment.

Everything is a message.

A DM.

An email.

A WhatsApp.

You can order your food without speaking to anyone.

Work from home without seeing anyone.

And then we wonder why people feel awkward when they actually have to talk to another human being.

Confidence comes from doing uncomfortable s**t.

Make the phone call.

Go to the networking event.

Start the conversation.

Speak to someone you don’t know.

You might feel awkward as f**k at first.

That’s alright.

You’ll get better.

Because communication is a skill.

And like every other skill…

you have to practise it.
