π Drowning Prevention Week - Know the Water Safety Code π
Today marks the beginning of Drowning Prevention Week, and we're encouraging everyone to learn the Royal Life Saving Society UK's Water Safety Code.
Whether you're visiting the beach, a lake, river or swimming pool this summer, these simple steps could help save a life:
π§ Stop and Think
Take a moment to look for potential dangers and make safe choices before entering the water.
π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦ Stay Together
Always stay close to friends and family around water. Never swim alone.
π Call 999 in an Emergency
If someone is in trouble, call 999 immediately. If you're at the coast, ask for the Coastguard.
π Float if You Get into Trouble
If you find yourself struggling in the water, float on your back, keep calm and control your breathing until help arrives or you can swim to safety.
By learning and sharing the Water Safety Code, we can all help prevent drowning and enjoy the water safely this summer.

βοΈ Healthy Habits - Foundations of Self-Care
Self-care is something we hear talked about a lot, but how can a beginner start to implement a good self-care routine?
Here's four key element that make up the foundations of self-care to help you to begin building a new routine.
β€οΈ Physical Activity & Health: Movement (walking, yoga, dancing) relieves stress and boosts mood. Prioritize 7-9 hours of sleep and eat nourishing meals.
π Mental & Emotional Wellness: Practice mindfulness by staying present, tracking your thoughts in a journal, and limiting screen time to reduce anxiety.
π¬ Social Connection: Maintain relationships with friends and family, and do not hesitate to ask for support.
π Setting Boundaries: Learn to say "no" to tasks that overwhelm you to protect your energy.
All of these changes can add up to significant changes over time - try implementing this into your routine and see how you feel!
