Not one, not two, but four awards! 🤩

Well done to our leisure services team, Thrive Active Durham Leisure, for their success at last night’s Ukactive Awards.

We were nominated in seven categories, and walked away with the winner’s trophies for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Transformational Innovation and Marketing Campaign.

We were also named Outsanding Organisation of the Year.

We’re thrilled that we have been recognised on the national stage for our work to ensure communities have opportunities to have healthier, more active lifestyles.

🚨 IMPORTANT FACILITY UPDATE & SAFETY WARNING 🚨

We are incredibly saddened to report a recent spike in severe anti-social behaviour around our 3G football pitch. Our community facility has recently targeted by individuals leaving behind smashed glass, lighting fires, littering, and committing blatant acts of vandalism.

This behaviour is entirely unacceptable. It risks ruining the pitches for everyone and creates a massive safety hazard for the players, teams, and children who use them.

⚠️ New Security Measures in Place
To protect our facilities, we have officially applied anti-climbing paint to the pitch perimeter fence.

CCTV footage will be forwarded to the police.

🛑 DANGER: PLEASE DO NOT CLIMB THE FENCE

• Slip & Injury Risk: This paint is a thick, non-drying compound designed to remain permanently wet and slippery. Attempting to climb the fence carries a severe risk of slipping, losing your grip, and falling from height.

• Property Damage: The oil-based paint will instantly ruin clothing and skin on contact, and it is incredibly difficult to wash out.

Warning signs have been clearly posted around the perimeter.
We want to keep our pitches safe, clean, and open for everyone to enjoy. If you see anyone causing damage or climbing the structures, please report it to management immediately or call the non-emergency police line on 101.

Thank you to the vast majority of our community who treat our facility with respect 🙌 ⚽
