Taking care of children all day is one of the strangest jobs in the world. You can be a chef, chauffeur, teacher, nurse, housekeeper, event planner, referee, therapist, and private investigator—and still have someone ask what you did all day.

You made three meals that nobody ate, cleaned the same room four times, negotiated with a tiny person who believes pants are optional, found a water bottle that was apparently invisible to everyone else, and kept another human being safe, loved, fed, and mostly clothed.

Then, if you need outside help, you quickly discover that replacing even part of this “non-work” costs thousands of dollars a month.

Caring for children may not always come with a paycheck, a promotion, or even a bathroom break—but it is absolutely real work. Important work. Exhausting work. And work our society tends to undervalue until someone has to pay for it.

Maybe we should stop asking stay-at-home parents what they do all day and start asking whether they’ve had five uninterrupted minutes to themselves this week.

A beautiful chapter comes to a close 💛✨

Tonight was my final Rumba Fitness Dance class of the year at Bellfield Church, Portobello — and what a great journey it has been! 💃🏽🎶

Thank you to everyone who showed up, danced, laughed, supported, and made these classes so special. I’m incredibly grateful for every moment and every one of you. 🫶🏽

As one door closes, another is opening… 🌊✨

I’m so excited to announce that new Dance classes will be coming soon on Tuesday the 25th- to Ocean Terminal on , Leith, Edinburgh! 🎉 and our Prestonpans class continues as solid as can be every Wednesday.

Here’s to endings that make space for new beginnings. 💫
