Whilst the health effects of dietary fat can be controversial, most experts agree that olive oil, especially extra virgin, can be extremely beneficial to your health.
Here are some reasons why you should consider making olive oil your oil of choice.
π Olive oil is rich in monounsaturated oleic acid. This fatty
acid is believed to have many beneficial effects and is a healthy choice for cooking.
π It contains nutrients that fight inflammation. These include oleic acid as well as the antioxidant oleocanthal, which has been shown to work similarly to an anti-inflammatory drugs.
π Extra virgin olive oil is loaded with antioxidants, some of which have powerful biological effects.
π Extra virgin olive oil has numerous benefits for heart health. It lowers blood pressure, protects βbadβ LDL cholesterol particles from oxidation and improves the function of blood vessels.
π Several large studies demonstrate that people who consume olive oil have a much lower risk of stroke, the second biggest killer in developed countries.

Green tea is often touted as one of the healthiest beverages on the planet.
Here are some reasons why you should put the kettle on.
π It's loaded with polyphenol antioxidants, including a catechin called EGCG. These antioxidants can have various beneficial effects on health.

Ramadan Mubarak to all of our members and their families who are celebrating.
If you are observing Ramadan, here are 3 tips to keep you on track with your fitness journey.
1. Have a plan and manage your time!
This sounds simple, but can be a tricky first hurdle when trying to plan your workouts. Do you train just before you break your fast, or do you train at night? There's no right answer, just whichever works for you!
2. Quick training sessions.
Plan 30 minute workouts with a fairly high intensity to minimise any strength or muscle loss, while adding to the stress of fasting with long drawn out high volume training sessions.
3. Use this time as a maintenance phase.
Don't opt for any personal bests, or lose X amount of body fat, or gain X amount of muscle tissue as this will be challenging with less nutrients. Just maintain your current fitness levels, and get back to your long term goals in a month!
