MEET THE MACHINES

The CoreAlign
The CoreAlign is a modern Pilates-based training system designed to improve functional movement, balance and coordination. It uses two independently moving carts on rails, combined with adjustable resistance bands. Exercises are performed mostly in a standing position, helping you train strength and stability in a way that feels natural and upright.
The CoreAlign is excellent for developing lower-body strength, core connection and control through the hips and pelvis. Athletes love it for improving gait, running technique and overall movement efficiency. Rehabilitation clients benefit from its gentle, guided patterns that retrain stability and balance. The upper body can also be targeted through pushing and pulling sequences that challenge posture and shoulder control.
What makes the CoreAlign unique is how smoothly it teaches the body to move — strengthening without gripping, stabilising without strain, and encouraging healthy alignment in motion. It is intuitive, enjoyable and highly effective for building confidence and ease in everyday movement.

These machines should only be used under the guidance of fully comprehensively trained Pilates instructors.

The Pilates Studio offers equipment Pilates at all levels.
Reformer, Trapeze, Combo Chair, Core Align and Ladder barrel!
We also specialise in Pilates teacher training, and our experienced team has in-depth knowledge of most conditions and associated physiotherapy with a focus on rehabilitation.

MEET THE MACHINES

The Trapeze Table (Cadillac)

The Trapeze Table — often called the Cadillac — is the most adaptable piece of Pilates equipment. A raised table with bars, springs and straps, it can provide support, assistance or challenge depending on your needs. Therapists often use it for rehabilitation, because the springs help guide and support movement, allowing muscles to strengthen safely and gradually. At the same time, it can be incredibly athletic when used for advanced exercises, teaching control, flexibility and strength through full ranges of motion. Clients can work lying down, sitting, kneeling or hanging — making it a true full-body training system. The Trapeze Table is especially useful for improving mobility in the shoulders and spine, while strengthening the core and postural muscles. It allows slow, mindful movement or dynamic, flowing sequences. Whether you’re recovering from injury, building confidence or looking for a new challenge, the Cadillac adapts to you — and helps your body move with better ease, strength and alignment.

These machines should only be used under the guidance of fully comprehensively trained Pilates instructors.

#3 – The Ladder Barrel

The Ladder Barrel is designed for stretching, strengthening and improving spinal mobility. Its unique shape allows the body to move through gentle curves and controlled extensions, making it a favourite for improving posture and opening the hips, ribs and shoulders. The ladder rungs provide support and stability while the curved barrel gives a comfortable surface to lengthen and strengthen the spine. It’s especially helpful for tight hamstrings, hip flexors and anyone who spends long periods sitting. Yet it’s not just for stretching — the Ladder Barrel can deliver powerful core and glute work, encouraging control and precision. Many clients find that using the Barrel helps them move more freely, stand taller and breathe more comfortably. Whether used on its own or combined with other Pilates equipment, it is a valuable tool for creating flexibility and strength together. The Ladder Barrel feels amazing to use and brings a real sense of length and ease through the whole body.

These machines should only to be used under the guidance of fully comprehensively trained Pilates instructors.

MEET THE MACHINES

#2 – The Chair
Don’t let the size fool you — the Pilates Chair delivers a powerful, full-body challenge. Made up of a box-like seat and a spring-loaded pedal, it demands strength, stability and precise control. The Chair is particularly known for its ability to train balance and core strength, as many exercises are performed in upright positions that replicate everyday movement. It’s brilliant for working the arms, legs and glutes, while constantly engaging the deep stabilising muscles of the trunk. Because exercises can be adjusted to be gentle or highly athletic, the Chair suits anyone: from those needing rehabilitation, building foundational strength or advanced movers looking for new challenges. It’s also popular with runners, cyclists and athletes who want to improve power, control and alignment. Despite its simple appearance, the Pilates Chair opens up a surprising variety of exercises — all focused on strength, posture and functional movement that you can feel in daily life.

These machines should only to be used under the guidance of fully comprehensively trained Pilates instructors.

MEET THE MACHINES

#1 – The Reformer

The Reformer, designed by Joseph Pilates to “universally reform the body” is probably the most famous and versatile of all Pilates machines. The exercises can be performed on your back, side or standing and even upside down. The springs can be adjusted to achieve different results and ropes are attached with stirrups to work the limbs. Most exercises require you to either push or pull the carriage but some are performed holding it steady for control. Because of these different dimensions there are literally hundreds of exercises that can be performed on the Reformer and all of these can then be adapted to suit individual abilities and conditions.

These machines should only to be used under the guidance of fully comprehensively trained Pilates instructors.
