The pelvic floor can be contracted, weak or sometimes a combination of the two. Many women have a weak pelvic floor due to age, lifestyle, difficult births, and trauma. Understanding the pelvis, its function, muscles, internal organs is a vital starting point to rehab this area. Additionally addressing the pelvis takes into consideration low back pain, scoliosis, incontinence, pelvic pain and many other issues affecting women today. A common prescription to pelvic issues is to send you home and “do your kegels.” This is not enough and might prove detrimental. We need to know what we are exactly trying to do “down there.” In this workshop you will get to know your pelvis, learn self massage, exercises, and proper posture. We will also cover yoga for incontinence, pelvic pain, prolapse, diastasis recti, back pain, and other imbalances. Class is open to all women, including pre - and - post natal, as well as peri and post menopausal.

This will be an in person workshop for fatigue, anxiety, and depression. Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation which promotes deep relaxation, while still maintaining full consciousness. This is the same state of being between the stages of wakefulness and sleeping. In this ‘going-to-sleep’ state, hormone production increases in the pineal gland- including the hormone melatonin- which is responsible for better sleep, reduced stress and anxiety, while increasing your immune function. The regular practice of Yoga Nidra increases your mental performance, due to a balancing effect of the brain's two hemispheres. Somatic movement allows the body's innate intelligence to be re-awakened by increasing sensory awareness and restoring inner-balance and peace. This results in increased wakefulness and vitality. Restorative Yoga is a powerful tool for stress, anxiety management, better sleep cycles, and overall nervous system health.
