Most people overestimate what they can achieve in a week.
And underestimate what they can achieve in a year.
The sessions themselves aren’t the secret.
It’s showing up when you’re busy.
Training when motivation isn’t there.
Repeating the basics long enough to see the benefit.
That’s what this group does well.
No shortcuts.
No magic formula.
Just consistent effort, applied week after week.
And that’s why progress follows.

“That was definitely longer than 4 seconds.”

A phrase all of the SOS coaching team hears in their time on the floor.

So we’ve decided to put the coaches to the test to see how accurate we are.

All jokes aside, there is a reason we obsess over tempo in our A-Series exercises.

We’re stronger during the lowering phase of a movement than we are during the lifting phase.

By slowing that eccentric portion down, we increase the challenge, create more tension through the target muscle, and get more from every rep.

Then on the way up?

Intent changes.

The goal is to contract hard and move the load with as much intent as possible.

It’s one of the reasons members often tell us they can feel muscles working in places they’ve never felt before.

Because great training isn’t just about moving weight from A to B.

It’s about how you move it.

As for who won the challenge.

Most people only know one speed when it comes to cardio: flat out.

They’ve been taught that if they’re not gasping for air, drenched in sweat, or crawling out of the gym, the workout didn’t count.

The problem is that fitness isn’t supposed to leave you feeling broken.

At SOS, we treat conditioning the same way we treat strength training.

With structure.
With progression.
With intent.

That’s why Breathe exists.

Our coach-led aerobic conditioning class is designed to improve recovery, build endurance, support heart health, reduce stress, and help you develop a body that can perform without feeling battered every week.

Because progress doesn’t come from seeing how much punishment you can tolerate.

It comes from applying the right stimulus at the right time.

The environment matters too.

When you’re surrounded by people who understand that smarter isn’t softer, it becomes much easier to trust the process.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do isn’t push harder.

It’s slow down.

Comment “EXCEL” and we’ll show you how our system helps members get stronger, fitter, and healthier without feeling broken in the process.

The hardest place to be isn’t failing.

It’s being comfortable enough to stay the same.

Not unhappy enough to change.
Not happy enough to be fulfilled.

That’s where a lot of people get stuck.

They know they could be fitter.
Stronger.
Healthier.

But life is busy.

Work gets in the way.
Family gets in the way.
Energy gets in the way.

So they keep telling themselves they’ll start when the timing is better.

The problem?

The perfect time never arrives.

The people who make lasting progress aren’t necessarily the most motivated.

They’re the people who decide to stop waiting.

They put themselves in an environment that makes success easier.

They get a plan.
They get support.
They get accountability.

Then they start stacking small wins until they become a different person.

The question isn’t whether you’re capable of change.

The question is how much longer you’re willing to stay where you are.

Comment ‘EXCEL’ if you’d like to find out how our system works.

Coach Zoe dropped 31kg and kept it off.

These are the 5 foods she still eats today.

At her heaviest, Coach Zoe weighed just over 111kg.

Since then, she’s lost 31kg and maintained that weight loss for years.

One of the biggest lessons she learned?

Fat loss becomes much harder when you’re constantly hungry.

That’s why many of the foods she built her diet around shared a few common traits:

✓ High in protein

✓ High in volume

✓ Nutrient dense

✓ Filling for relatively few calories

In other words, foods that made it easier to stay in a calorie deficit without feeling like she was constantly fighting her appetite.

Lean protein. Potatoes. Eggs. Greek yoghurt. Vegetables.

Different foods. Same outcome.

They helped Coach Zoe stay full, lose 31kg, and keep it off.

Choose foods that keep you fuller for longer and fat loss becomes a lot easier to sustain.

Save this for the next time you’re planning your meals.

And if you’d like help building a fat loss plan you can actually stick to, comment “EXCEL” below.

Jane didn’t need more motivation. She needed something far more powerful.

Back in 2021, Jane was doing what many people do when they decide it’s time to make a change.

She had a gym membership.
She was working with a PT.
She was trying.

But despite the effort, she wasn’t getting where she wanted to be.

She felt unfit.
She was frustrated with her body composition.
And osteoarthritis in her knee gave her every reason to believe certain goals were out of reach.

Fast forward to today.

Jane has lost 18% body fat.
Quit smoking after 35 years.
Completed HYROX events.
Crossed the finish line at multiple 10Ks and a half marathon.
And become physically stronger than she’s ever been.

The biggest lesson?

Progress rarely comes from finding the perfect programme.

It comes from having the right environment.

A plan you can follow.
Coaches who adapt around your life.
Accountability when motivation disappears.
And a community that makes showing up feel normal.

That’s how temporary results become lasting change.

If you’re working hard but still feel like you’re not getting anywhere, it might not be more motivation you need either.

Comment EXCEL and we’ll show you how the SOS system works.

The sun’s out. Holidays are booked. Weekends are filling up.

But some things don’t change.

The work stays consistent.

Another Saturday Team Training in the bank with a crew that continues to show up, put the work in, and raise the standard for everyone around them.

The weather might be getting better, but so are we.

In 2018, Cheranne came to us with one goal.

Improve her health and get her diabetes under control.

No grand ambitions.
No performance targets.
Just a woman who wanted to feel better.

Seven years later she’s off all medication.
Sub 30% body fat.
And next month she’s competing at the Hyrox World Championships.

She’s 68 years old.

This is what happens when the right environment meets the right person.

Cheranne didn’t find a new workout.

She found a new standard for herself.

What started as a health goal quietly became something bigger.

A performance goal, an identity and a community she shows up for every single week.

The gym isn’t something she does anymore.
It’s part of who she is.

Seven years of showing up.

This is what that looks like when you stop trying to do it alone.

Whether you’re managing your health, rebuilding your confidence, or just trying to find something that finally sticks.

Comment ‘EXCEL’ to find out how our system would work for you.

Most people don’t fail in gyms because they’re lazy.

They fail because they’re trying to stay consistent in an environment with no structure, no support and no accountability.

The problem usually isn’t motivation.

It’s the environment.

Watch this video if you’ve ever joined a gym, stopped going and blamed yourself for it.
