Having a baby is life-changing in so many ways — and that includes what’s happening inside your body. 💛

In this clip from Sensei’s podcast, we talk about the hormonal changes that can happen after having a baby, how they can affect you physically and emotionally, and why understanding those changes matters.

It’s an important conversation for new mums, partners and anyone supporting them.

This is what class looks like most days.

Two children, side by side, working on the same thing — and finding it genuinely funny when one of them wobbles. No embarrassment. No pressure. Just two little people figuring it out together.

That is the environment we build at SKMA Little Ninjas. Safe enough to get it wrong. Structured enough to keep improving. Fun enough that they ask to come back.

Progress is not loud. It happens quietly, in moments exactly like this one.

If your child is 4–6 and you want them to build coordination, confidence, and real friendships — come and try a week with us.

🥋 Week 9 of Our 10-Week Self-Defence Course Starts Today!

We’re now into Week 9, with just two sessions remaining in our 10-week self-defence course.

Over the past weeks, our students have been developing practical skills designed to help them feel more aware, confident and prepared in situations where personal safety may become a concern.

Self-defence isn’t about being the strongest person in the room. It’s about awareness, making good decisions, staying calm under pressure, and knowing how to respond when it matters.

Tonight, Chief Instructor Sean will continue building on the skills and principles covered throughout the course, with practical training and realistic scenarios designed to improve:

✅ Awareness and personal safety
✅ Confidence under pressure
✅ Practical self-defence skills
✅ Decision-making in challenging situations
✅ The ability to stay calm and take action

There’s still time to join us. Each session contains valuable stand-alone training, so you don’t need to have attended the previous weeks to take part.

Whether you’re looking to improve your confidence, learn practical self-defence, or simply feel more prepared, we’d be pleased to have you with us.

📅 Week 9 — Tonight, Thursday 20th August
🕡 6:15pm – 7:15pm
📍 SKMA Martial Arts
💷 £10 per session (non-members)

Open to everyone aged 13+. No previous martial arts experience is required, no uniform is needed, and there’s no long-term commitment.

📩 Send us a message to reserve your place.

Because confidence comes from preparation, not chance. 👊

So here's something you don't see at most kids' clubs.

The moment a student nails something they've been working on — really nails it — the whole class feels it. Their training partner feels it. And they celebrate it. Not with a trophy or a sticker. Just a genuine, earned high-five between two kids who both know what it took to get there.

That's the culture we build here.

Not everyone gets a medal. Not everyone gets told they're brilliant when they haven't earned it. But when you do the work and it pays off — your teammates are right there with you.

That's what we want your child to experience. Real effort. Real reward. Real friendships built on the mat.

Free trial available now. Come and see what the dojo feels like.

Good training partners make a big difference. You do not need to have all the answers on day one. You need people who are prepared to slow things down, help you understand the technique and let you make mistakes without turning it into a competition. That is how confidence is built: one rep, one correction and one session at a time.Progress is slow on purpose.

The people who make the greatest progress at SKMA are not always the naturally gifted or those with the most spare time.

They are the parents, business owners and busy adults with work to manage, children to support and more responsibilities than there are hours in the day. Their schedules are full too but they choose to make training part of their routine.

Not because they are chasing a dramatic transformation or waiting for the perfect time. They train because it is what they do.
Like brushing your teeth, it becomes a non-negotiable part of looking after yourself:

your health, your mindset, your confidence and your ability to keep showing up for the people who rely on you.

You do not need a perfect week. You do not need to feel motivated every day. Just get your kit on, step onto the mat and do the work.

Your time will be spent either way. Make sure some of it is invested in becoming stronger — for yourself and for the people watching you lead.
See you on the mats.

There’s a lot of reasons people start training… but what’s the real reason they keep coming back?

In this clip from Sensei’s podcast, Sean and Jazz talk about something that goes far beyond the training itself — the community and the people in the room.

It’s the encouragement when things get tough.
The friendships built through training.
The shared laughs, challenges and achievements.
And knowing that when you walk through those doors, you’re part of something.

🥋 The people make the place.

🎙️ Listen to Sean and Jazz talk about what really keeps our members coming back.
